![]() Fun Facts Favorite Quote: "Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.It shouldn't be that women are the exception." Favorite Musical: My Fair Lady Musical Influences: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Madonna Tell us a little about your background and how you came to join Thrive. I live in Streetsboro, Ohio and work in Human Resources for a large Cleveland-based company. I'm a mom of two kids and my husband, Doug, (who is also a trustee and performer) and I love our community and friends. A good friend's daughter was involved in Thrive at the beginning of high school; naturally we went to see her to support our friend and our community. "We were absolutely blown away by the talent and creativity." I was fortunate enough to meet Jim Boardwine when Doug and I were playing locally; he asked us to be guests for the Katie Curran album release show. It was all over then. "I couldn't stay away and quickly became involved in many of the productions that followed." What is your role as board president? My job as the board president is really one of facilitation. I work with this awesome group, many of whom are also connected to Thrive artistically, to ensure that we are prioritizing, planning, coordinating, and executing as a resident company and as facility operators. "I try to keep us organized holistically so that we meet our goals while still meeting our goals as a performing and visual arts company." In your opinion, what makes Thrive special or unique when compared to similar organizations? The biggest competitive advantage we have as a comp[any is the way we leverage all generations for our performances and the original creative content that our people produce. We don't focus so narrowly on one generation that it limits our ability to provide accurate depictions of characters or the type of content we create. "We take a 'sky is the limit' approach to theater, which affords our patrons a chance to relive some of their favorite traditional story moments in a fresh way." When you aren't working or participating in Thrive-related events, how do you like to spend your time? " I am a mom first, with a 14-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter." ![]() I spend a lot of my time with them or at their activities; luckily, my daughter has the theater bug too so I get to spend time with her while enjoying Thrive at the same time. Doug and I also get to enjoy time with Jim in our band Mother Ale, a classic rock cover band playing in Streetsboro and the surrounding areas. We act as part of the house band in most Thrive productions.
